Methodology: how our reports are made

The principle: every figure with its source

Every figure on this site is clickable and opens its evidence: the raw value from the original document, the period, the calculation basis and the direct link into the filing (e.g. SEC EDGAR). Derived values (such as free cash flow = operating cash flow − capex) are flagged as such. What we cannot substantiate, we do not show.

Where the data comes from

Exclusively from public primary sources: SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) for US names, TDnet earnings reports (tanshin) and EDINET filings for Japanese names, official IR reports for European and Australian names. No third-party databases, no estimates, no analyst opinions. Figures are extracted in a structured way, validated against the filings' XBRL concepts and linked to the document's wording.

AI labeling

Reports are AI-assisted (transparency per Art. 50 EU AI Act) and pass automated validation gates: number-format convention checks, cross-validation between documents, guardrails against extraction errors. Remaining uncertainties are flagged, not hidden. The AI models we use are Claude by Anthropic; the entire system is developed and maintained with Claude Code, Anthropic's developer tool. Why we work with it and what the tool does is described on our Claude Code page.

Neutrality

We publish neutral financial information: no price targets, no ratings, no buy or sell recommendations, no valuations. We report what the company itself has reported, including guidance and its later verification. Advertising and affiliate links are clearly labeled and influence neither content nor selection or ordering of reports.

How to read the reports

Update tags

The short classification of the most recent quarter, shown as colored dots on the start page and as badges in the report (such as “revenue accelerating”, “margin expanding”, “guidance raised”). They are derived automatically from reported figures and events and verified against the sources; the start page and the report show the same tags for the latest reporting state. Colors only identify the tag type and carry no judgement or recommendation.

Reported KPIs (as reported)

Metrics defined and reported by the company itself, such as order intake, recurring revenue or industry-specific measures. They are not standardized by accounting rules and not comparable across companies; we therefore reproduce them verbatim in the company's own definition, each with its source. In translated language versions the original label is shown on hover.

Event timeline

The chronological collection of material events from the original filings, grouped by quarter and sorted into six categories: results, revenue, margin, strategy, financial position and guidance. The two most recent years are expanded; older years can be unfolded. Every entry carries its source as a clickable number; management quotes are marked as verbatim.

Displayed period

Tables, charts and the timeline show the three most recent completed fiscal years plus the current year. Older periods are fully captured internally and feed into comparisons; where more history exists, a note such as “history captured since FY2016” appears. Segments, products, M&A and the source directory are deliberately shown in full.

Figures date and events date

The “as of MM/YYYY” in the page title is the date of the most recent processed source. Events can be newer than the figure tables: if a company publishes an operational update without full financials, the timeline keeps growing while the tables remain at the last reporting date. Where the two diverge, title and description point it out.

Reporting currency and scales

All amounts are stated in the company's original reporting currency (e.g. USD, EUR, JPY, GBP, CHF, AUD) without conversion; the currency is shown in the page header. Magnitudes follow the original (millions or billions). Only number formatting, i.e. decimal and thousands separators, follows the language of the page.

Individual metrics and technical terms are explained in the glossary of metrics.

Update cadence

Each report is updated after the company's earnings date (quarterly or half-yearly depending on its reporting cadence). The update date and incorporated documents are shown on every page.

Data quality & limits

This site shows the most recent reporting periods per stock; the displayed timeframe can vary by name. Despite careful, source-based generation, no guarantee of accuracy or completeness can be given; the linked original documents always prevail. What cannot be substantiated is not shown; uncertain entries carry a marker right at the value.
